Been a bit busy here in Smaggle Land but here’s a little list of lovin’ and loathin’ for this week!

Lady Loves –

* Having a whole evening in my apartment alone to blog, wash my hair, make my lunch for tomorrow and watch REALLY bad TV.

* Rock melon with yogurt and honey.

* Going for jogs with Co-Dependent Smaggle. We used to exercise all the time in Canberra but we replaced exercise with pizza and wine when we moved to Melbourne. Bad Smaggles.

* Free magazines. I only wish I had more.

* The school for students with special needs that I taught at last week. My kids were DELIGHTFUL! And they called and gave me work this week too! Seriously. Give me some kids with autism over bitchy 15 year old girls any day. I’ve decided that being mean is a learned behaviour and that kids with special needs are just too special to learn it!

* Chilly nights with fresh sheets and piles of blankets.

* Baywatch! Roomy Smaggle and I have the first series on DVD and it’s actually really good. Not in a 90210-this-is-so-bad-it’s-AMAZING kind of good but it’s actually a really cool show. I find myself losing my breath when someone nearly drowns. Wow that’s sad.

Lady Loathes –

* Breaking ten saw blades in one day. Those things are EXPENSIVE!!!

* Mr Smaggle being in San Francisco. I don’t sleep well with out my bed time snuggle phone call. It’s just not the same at 5pm.

* The fact that nits are now a threat to me again. Working with kids can be really hazardous.

* Roomy Smaggle’s sweet tooth. There is chocolate ALL OVER MY APARTMENT!!! I’m not sure how much longer my willpower can hang on.

* The Melbourne traffic. It took Co-Dependent Smaggle 25 MINUTES to drive 3kms this afternoon. And it wasn’t even peak hour. I just don’t understand how drivers keep their brains from exploding. I spent 15 minutes in eye sight of my house stuck in traffic the other day. It would have taken me thirty seconds to walk from where my car was jammed.

* My life being ALMOST perfect minus stability. And knowing that I won’t get stability for a really long time. And knowing that stability means more to me than it does to most people.

* Being too shy to ask someone to take my outfit shots at school. Which means I have to do them myself on a little tripod and I often don’t have the time. I’m working on it!

What are your loves and loathes of the week? Share! I feel like we haven’t spoken for ages!

Love Lady Smaggle

No doubt you’re gonna get inundated with offer, but I’ll happily stick my hand up to take your pics – although I’m not sure which campus you’re at, I’m in the CBD most days and would love to play photographer!

Now, that being said, this week I love: frozen cokes, the Latrobe Reading Room at the State Library, impromptu Koko Black hot chocolates with my cousin, crying over amazing pieces of music, dancing on Swanston Street. *Swoon!*

I loathe: people who don’t take their turtle size backpacks off when they get on the tram and knock everyone else about! Gr!

I would take your outfit photos if I was there! I’m always too shy to ask people too.

I love the faces my baby pulls in the shower, looking forward to the weekend, being strong about my big break up do-hickey and coke zero and I’m hating overdue fines on DVDs – I NEVER remember to take them back on the right day.

I have never commented before but this seems like a perfect time! I loathe : clients who send sneaky emails to your boss behind your back! I love: the sunny day we’re having, and lunch with my boyfriend.

    Love your blog btw!

I love this sentiment: “I’ve decided that being mean is a learned behaviour and that kids with special needs are just too special to learn it!”

    Love.

You…shy!! never would have thought it!!!! Aaaah,so sweet though!
I’m loving: longer days, hating the wind, loving my stir-fries and curries, hating people who obviously can’t drive nor park their FREAKIN’ cars, and loving that it’s almost summer….

i hear you on the traffic. it’s one of my top LA-living loathes. 🙁

Students can be wonderful, can’t they!

I love: delightful uni students I’m teaching; new boy; fun housemates.

I loathe: insecurity about said new boy; my sister being heartbroken; feeling overwhelmed with busyness.

Nokomi – Seriously lovely offer! I’m blushing! Unfortunately I spend so little time in the CBD it probably wouldn’t work. But thanks so much anyway!

Shannon – Oh me too on the DVDs!

Lisa – thanks for reading! And commenting!

Sal – It’s totally true. They are delightful little chickens.

Fats – Totally! I’m really weird about new people I know reading my blog!

Tahda – Grrr! The traffic is my biggest issue right now.

The Peahen – Yes! And a bit of a handful too…

Not sure what kind of teaching of children w/ special needs you’re doing?……….I used to work for this organisation called ‘Milparinka’ in Melbourne. It’s a w/end and school holiday outings programme for children&teenagers w/ special needs. You act as a leader of a group, and take them to movies, nature trails, art exhibits, community events etc etc etc…….it’s one of the best jobs I’ve ever had! SO much fun, and the kids were amazing. Give them a call x

    LOVES:
Twitter: Somehow documenting everyday things in short sentances makes me realise how much I do or dont in a day! Also gives me a chance to be witty!
Jelly Belly Beans: Eating large amounts now! Need to go for a walk to work off the sugar high!
New House: I moved recently so Im still getting used to wear light switches are!

    LOATHS:
Being woken early in the morning to the sound of hammers!
My Dog having escaped for the 2nd time and is now at the pound again!
Not being close the public transport anymore!

That traffic sounds epic Lady Smaggle! If only we could all learn to teleport there would be so much less of it!

    Loves:
    – submitting my thesis. I have written ‘Evelyn Waugh’ for two weeks! (til now…)
    – new boy OOOOOH
    – One Tree Hill. It is so trashily awesome (and part of the reason why the new boy is so great is that he loves trashy TV even more than I do)
    – being asked to edit Beems’s new arts section (for money!)

    Loathes:
    – fevered egos
    – not being able to decide what to do with my life
    – lousy Smarch weather
    – Centrelink

Ten saw blades in a day is pretty impressive. I thought I set the destruction record when I blew out our bender, mixer, and food processor over the weekend, but I don’t think that beats ten saw blades. 😉

Oh and now I’m craving fruit and yogurt! Mmm…
