Eeeek I love watching your Aussie vlogs – you guys just have the sweetest accents. Well, you know I’m Scribs, I’m a New Zealand female who’s 24 years of age. I’m hoping to be an English and Drama teacher next year (won’t someone please give me a job?!) and madly in love with my sexy SB who I move in with in a couple of weeks.
I’m a fan of the Smaggle-centric posts, it gives me the opportunity to learn more about you. It would be neat to learn more of what inspired you to do your course, what are the best and worst things about it, etc… and perhaps interviews with other people who have thrown in “mainstream careers” to follow their dreams.

Wow, you are so articulate and well-spoken! I’m impressed! Awesome work – if you want to keep making videos, I say go for it! And I love that Devil Wears Prada quote (what teacher doesn’t?).

You know me, I was here a year ago (really? a whole year?). Dance teacher (ballet/jazz/zumba) in rural NZ, age 37, size little. I’ve stuck my website address on this comment for you (normally I don’t bother because it’s my work website, not a blog). I used to teach high school in my early 20s and then I was a full-time mum for 8 years.

I love your style! I especially love that you wear skirts and dresses all the time. That really inspires me, especially in winter. So keep those outfit photos coming. I also like your forthright Aussie humour – it’s great.

You now what I would really like? A Smaggle etsy shop. I’d love to be able to buy some of your work.

    Hello!

I remember when you asked this last year, and I was so engrossed by the lovely responses. I loved reading what size everyone was and where everyone was from. I can’t remember exactly what questions you asked though {back then}.

So me? I’m Chantelle. I’m 29. I live in Bondi. I have a little daughter and a wonderful husband. Size? I hate my body at the moment. Usually I hate the word hate, but that’s where I’m at, unfortunately. I am doing my darndest to change that though.

What do I want to see at Smaggle? I love the way you’ve spoken clearly so well in your Vlog, so I say do more of those. Once or twice a fortnight. I love the DIY’s. They’re great. I just love hearing about your life. I want to hear more about your course. I want to see more about what you’re wearing. I miss your stories about Brownie {was that her name?}, and your life {the play, being bridesmaid.. all that fun stuff}.

So I say just share. You write so well. You’ve got a great view on life. I like the rants, especially when they’re balanced out with loves. I don’t really want to hear current affairs. Reality isn’t so much fun. But saying that… I’d still read it you took that path because I know you’d have a pretty cool view on it all.

Lastly, I love your quirky takes on life. I think that’s what makes Smaggle so cool. Blog advice would be nifty too. It’s frustrating to have sooo many hits, and hardly any comments… I know that too. But just know we’re here, and we want you to keep doing as you do. xx

  4. aprill 14 years ago

Hi! I enjoyed your video. 🙂

I’m Aprill, aka muser on various internet fora, and I’m just north of Goulburn, NSW. (Soon to be Bowral whenever our house sells.)

I’m 35, size 12, a large in Cotton On and Dotti but medium everywhere else, with a size 9 shoe. I’m married, with 2 sons – nearly 6yo and 2.5yo.

I’ve been in IT for over 10 years and am on the verge of giving it the chop so I can focus on a burgeoning freelance copywriting career. I’ve also just started studying a uni degree so time will be in short supply very soon.

I love Smaggle-centric posts as well. The best ones are inspiring. Like when you left Smaggle gifts in random places through New Zealand. I like your daily style. I like the passion you display for your friends and your craft.

As for vlogs – I enjoy the occasional one but not more than that. I like reading the different ways people write. I like imagining what they must sound like, or what their everyday personality is like. There’s an enjoyable mystery to it. Less so, with vlogs. I don’t like having to turn everything else down, or make sure the wrong people aren’t around before I play it. Vlogs have a place though, so I don’t diss them completely.

Basically, keep doing what you do – I’m a big fan.

  5. Lady Smaggle 14 years ago

Scribbles – I love you! Always the steady commenter! Congrats on moving in with your man… love! Thanks for the props. It seems narcissism (mine) is quite popular here at Smaggle.

Nadist – Ha! Thanks. Public speaking is my secret super power. I’m actually in the process of doing a on line store it’s just difficult to pitch the right level you know? I doubt any $600 art jewellery pieces would sell here if you know what I mean. I need to develop a more affordable line without compromising Smaggle integrity. I will post some photos of my stuff though!

Fat Mum Slim – You’re freaking gorgeous. You miss Browny? She is going to be totally chuffed that you said that. She’s had a pretty shit year (worst thing being discovering a dead body! I know!) so it will totally cheer her up. It’s bizarre but I always think all that crap about myself is so boring. More Co-Dependent and Roomy Smaggle stories coming right up!

April – Thanks so much for honest feedback! No current issues… unless it’s in a rant! I should do the Smaggle gifts thing again… although I never heard from anyone who found them. I’m totally the same with vlogs. Can’t watch them at work and I’m a real skimmer so I rarely take the time to watch them. This was a wee little experiment. Seemed to work quite well… so maybe the occasional one. Maybe DIY vlogs?

T- Seriously? Where was I? That’s so embarrassing because I like to look at myself in shop windows when talking on the phone. I’m a total poser. Do say hi next time you see me though! Even if I’m on the phone. 🙂
Oh! I have a friend going through the EXACT same thing. She has blog… I’m sure she’ll comment here and I’ll let you know. It’s so funny but the ‘advice’ columns get hardly any feedback on the actually post but everyone seems to love them here! More to come!

  6. T 14 years ago

    Hi

I am from Canberra (and got a real kick the other day when I saw you walking along the street chatting on your phone as if you were some normal person not a blogging celebrity!).

I’m 29 and have just gone back to work after having a baby boy who turned one last week. I’m struggling with finding a balance between all of my responsibilities and trying to discover how to merge ‘me’ with ‘mum’ and not lose myself in all of the overwhelmingness of having a child.

I think I use Smaggle most for inspiration and to think about how to make the most out of my life. I like reading your ‘loves’ because it makes me stop a little bit and think about what I love. I really enjoyed the posts you used to do with tips for getting through Christmas or ‘why don’t you…’ – they were great.

I hope this helped. I liked the video as well and can see how that could work well.

  7. Jay 14 years ago

I’m a 27 year old, size 12, single mum from Melbourne. I’m just wrapping up my masters thesis (I studied whores in late-medieval London) and am now madly scrabbling at public sector positions.

I love reading general life-style stuff: fashion, accessories, food, decorating, crafts, things that are on or open in Melbourne. I think I’ve spent the last couple of years living vicariously through Melbourne bloggers – being a single mum and full time student I’ve been both rather poor, in terms of both money and time. Budget-friendly stuff makes me happy!

I always enjoy your daily-style posts, love your “why don’t you” posts (so many great ideas!), and … I’m always curious about what you do with your kids at work. Crafting projects. Are you able to share more on these? I love doing crafty things that include my son, but I’m just not particularly great with coming up with ideas myself …

  8. T 14 years ago

Corner of Cooyong St and Genge St (no shop windows in sight!) and I was in a car going past. Next time will definitely hang out the window and give a wolf whistle!

    • Lady Smaggle 14 years ago

Jay – I’m so glad that people like the ‘Why don’t you’ posts. I though they were deathly unpopular because no one ever comments on them! Def more crafty goodness coming your way! Oh and with kids best tip ever – shaving cream. Spray a pile of it on a table and let kids go nuts playing in it. It washes out of everything and smells delicious and kids will play with it for HOURS!

T – Oh right! Mr Smaggle just dropped me off and I was talking to Mama Smaggle because I just got a permanent part time special needs teaching job next year. I was super excited!

  9. Clementine 14 years ago

Hi Lady Smaggle 🙂 I’m 17, female, student/crappy retail worker in Adelaide. I’ve been reading your blog for gosh…a while, I remember it being one of the first blogs I added to my reader. I’m a fairly consistent size 10..though sometimes an 8 (lucky days!) or a 12. I love vlogs but more often than not just skip right over them – I’m on holidays home alone right now so I can watch them as loudly as I like but generally I’ll just skip right over everyone’s vlogs because I get too many WHO IS THAT? WHAT ARE THEY ON ABOUT? questions from people when I watch them. Oh, woe is me clearly! I don’t really know what I want from smaggle – I don’t know what I want from anything really! How about some tips on how to survive highschool/uni/the adult world? Reassure your younger readers that life DOES get better? You seem like you have your head screwed on pretty well and your life sorted out. Ahh, I don’t know. I rarely comment, but I do read everything, most of the time I just have nothing to say or am too lazy 😛

  10. fat mum slim 14 years ago

    Oh poor Browny!

Can you do a post reminding us who all the people are in your life, and photos {if they’ll allow you}?

I need to keep on top of it. xx

  11. Lisa 14 years ago

Hi! I’m Lisa, I’m 18, I live in Perth, I’m (mostly) a size 10 (size 9 shoe). I’m at uni doing a double major in film & TV and photography and I LOVE it. But at the moment I’m on summer break and so I kind of love that even more.

The thing I love most about Smaggle (besides the adorable name – where did that come from by the way?) is the personality you bring to your posts. Anyone can keep up a blog about life/ fashion etc, but few can do it while being interesting, clever, witty and fabulous. So keep that up.

I would love to see more DIYs though! And photos of your creations. And outfits. The fashiony stuff is tops. As are the loves and loathes. So I guess I like just about everything? Oh! I like the ‘why don’t you’ posts too. (So to answer that question, yes, I do like pretty much everything.)

    Lisa xx

  12. LaLa 14 years ago

Hello – I am LaLa and we met face to face the other day. Was so very excited. I will be 33 in December and live with my boyfriend in Canberra. We met via our blogs and although Canberra born here I only moved back a year ago after a gazillion years away. Rather happily I met my friend Eva through your blog as I commented on a post and she followed the link.

Hurrah, thanks for giving me one of my first friends in Canberra!

    Well, we think that’s it…!

I work in Admin but am trying to think of something to do that is more fulfilling.

I am anywhere from a size 14 through to a 18… drives me mental, I wish they would introduce standard sizing for clothing.

I love the Loves, Loathes posts, why don’t you posts and I love your Daily Style posts as they inspire me to put a little bit more effort into what I am wearing to boring old work.

Also, love, love your posts on issues such as the challenges you face with political correctness in the classroom and the female body.

  13. LaLa 14 years ago

    P.S. I miss Brownie too.

  14. Skye 14 years ago

    Hi,
I’m Skye, a 24 and a fellow Melbournite. I work a 9-5 job in an office, nothing special, but love being able to check up on my fave blog when I can!

Size – Used to be a 14-16, now a 10! gym addict and vegetarian have helped that along the way.

what i love about your blog is your awesome style and fashion sense. you can chose what ever you want and make it look amazing, and it is that which keeps me coming back!

i dont want anything to change. i love this the way it is 🙂

  15. Cs81 14 years ago

What a fabulous post, you are even more gorg on video!

I just turned 28 last week and am married with an almost 5 year old. We just made the big move from the city to the country and we’re having an absolute ball.

In regards to dress size, I am most unhappy in that department right now. I have put on 3 sizes in the last 7 1/2 years and am finding it hard at times to get motivated. I’m very much a yoyo – up, down, etc etc. I will get there.

I love the whole blog and look forward to the new posts, you are an inspiration xxx

  16. Kate 14 years ago

    Hello my Lovely Lady Smaggle!

You know me, we’ve known each other since well before Smaggle, doing the Canberra Theatre scene. My wedding accessories were made by you and was one of the first posts on Smaggle (i so totally love that!!) But, since I haven’t seen you in a couple of weeks, I’ll re-acquaint myself for you 🙂
I’m 31, living in Canberra with my hubby and gorgeous squishy 10 month old baby boy. I’m back at work and trying to get my lfe back on track since the biggest thing that has ever happened to me (having my bubba, obviously..was it me you were referring to above to T’s comments??). I used to be a size 10 to 12, but god knows what I am now!! I’m trying desperately to fit back into my old clothes. I have recently started my own blog, as I was inspired by all the Smaggle goodness I read each week.

You know I love Smaggle, so keep doing what your doing my pet. The Vlog is very cool, bring on more of that. And since you live so far from me now, I love hearing what your up to, so more stuff about what’s going on in Smaggle Land please!

    much love
    Kate 🙂

  17. The Mumma 14 years ago

You know me in real life, but for the benefit of your blog, I’ll answer here.

I’m Helen, age 30, actress/teacher/mother, size 8 dress with 6F bra and 5 shoe so I’m TINY with TITS and I live in Western Sydney.

I like seeing your daily style and I’m so happy this has made a recent comeback. I find I make much more of an effort in my own style after I’ve seen your pics. I like reading about stuff that’s going on in your life. I would love to see more of your artistic endeavours being featured. I don’t mind if you occasionally go off on tangents, but since this is the only fashion/art blog I read, I prefer that focus. I’d hate for this blog to turn into a relationship advice column, because even though you give good advice, it’s your quirky sense of style that I love the most and want to be inspired by that as much as possible!

  18. ninaribena 14 years ago

Hey you look so foxy in the video!!! Loves it!

So sorry to have missed you at Handmade Market and I’m so glad to see evidence that you didn’t melt completely and hope you enjoyed it despite missing moi!

    I’m a 33 y/o size 12/14 with an apparently unreasonable bra size (hmmph curses to the bra shopping). I’m a mum/jewellery designer/homewares designer/crafter/maker/interior designer/fashion designer/frugal shopper/DIY diva/Canberra blogger.

I subscribe, so I get lovely little Smaggle emails all the time and the ones I love the most are outfit shots, “why don’t you…”, and the ones where you show us your creations/DIY (want more!!).

In the end though, it’s your blog and we’re only here because we love what you are doing already, so have fun and do YOUR thing,

    xxx

ps: Yay Cleo mag.. nice one! Stay tuned for the January issue… looks like I’ll have a whole page (so they tell me!) eeep. I’ll believe it when I see it though.

  19. E 14 years ago

I’m E – representing the over 50s 🙂 I’m in the UK, I love, love the personal style stuff and the vlog was wonderful – more please.

My favourite Smaggle bits are why don’t you’s (you channel DV beautifully) and outfit musings and DIYs – and like pretty much everyone else don’t much care for relationship advice (even though you DO give advice from the heart).

A Browny bulletin would be lovely too 🙂

  20. Amelia 14 years ago

Hello! I’m Amelia. I’m 19. I’m American. I’m really not quite certain how I even found your blog in the first place. But the moment I saw it, I loved it! I think your humor is so charming and I love reading your “Have a Rant Monday” posts.

I’m currently a college student at the Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This is going to sound so nerdish, but I’m studying to be a librarian. I love books. I love to read. I wear glasses. I’m just the embodiment of the stereotype. I’m a size 8 and I wear a dress almost everyday. I have short legs, which look weird in pants.

I love your blog. I honestly wouldn’t change anything about it. This is the first time I’ve commented, though not the first time I’ve wanted to. I’m usually insanely busy and am only able to read your posts and then dash off somewhere else. Thank you so much for writing!

  21. eyeliah 14 years ago

Hi there, nice to see you.
I may have told you some things before but I am female, Canadian, 28, married, accountant, blogger, guitar player, singer.
i like the why don’t you posts the most!! also your outfits and lady loved and loathes.

  22. niki 14 years ago

niki: 25 years, size 10 fembot living in Sydney’s inner west. Like you, I grew up in Canberra (we went to the same primary school and high school. Hi!) I aspire to be a screenwriter. Right now I work 55hr+ weeks script-editing and researching for television drama. Basically I make the writers’ jobs easier. I love food, the beach, laughter and new experiences.

People have already touched on what I like: you! Your personality is what I come back for. Your voice and attitude is Рto use a tired clich̩ Рa breath of fresh air. While I like your outfit shots and why-dont-yous, I really enjoy reading what you have to say, seeing the world through the smaggle lens.

The vlogs are good, you can definitely pull them off, but I’d be wary of alienating your readership. I hardly ever bother with videos online, too hard to deal with at work.

My fave sections are the DIYs, hands down. I find the creative process endlessly fascinating and you make everything look so easy. Very inspiring. I also like your subject-specific posts, e.g. ‘what to wear to a funeral’ and ‘how to dress in your 20s’. Overall, I think that you’ve done pretty well with variety. If all I got was DIY I’d probably be bored.

What do I want? Definitely not current affairs. I scratch that itch elsewhere. I like the idea of occasionally featuring other creatives in your blog, but I’d be turned off if the focus was on the minutiae. I’m sorry, but I don’t give a shit what people carry in their handbags.
Have you considered styling? I don’t like the idea of ‘makeovers’ but if someone had a brief, e.g. ‘smart/casual work christmas party outfit’ it’d be great to see a before/after shot and also to dissect all the bits that made up the outfit, where they came from, prices, etc.

  23. Browny 14 years ago

I miss browny! where have i gone.?!?!?! I’m a nobody now!!!!!

  24. Cathryn 14 years ago

That vlog was pretty cool! Okay, so I’m Cathryn, 20, size 8, living in Adelaide, just finished uni! No idea what I’m doing next year, there aren’t really any grad jobs with my degree, so I’ve applied for post-grad nursing.

I’d like: more DIYs! Or even you just showing us more stuff that you’ve made. And like someone said earlier, an etsy/online shop would be cool, I love the earrings in the icon picture thing for ‘loves’ at the top of the page (and I just realised that they change to colour when you hover the mouse over them!) Outfit photos I also like, more please! What about entries with links of random interesting stuff you’ve found on the internet? I also like the post on page 7 about your daily discoveries, and the why don’t you posts. And of course, the loves and loathes. So I guess, in short, I like everything, but would like more of it?

  25. Sneaux 14 years ago

Oh my god – you’re even cuter when we get to see you in action! Great video Lady S.

I’m Robin, I live in western Montana (USA). I’m 37, a size 12 with size 7.5 shoes (38 Euro, I think). Not married, but have a fabulously lovely logger-man that I spend the cold Montana nights with. No kids, but a doggie named Bella Boo. I’m a non-profiteer in the world of outdoor journalism, and a self-styled Yrppie (sort of like a “yuppie” – but we’ll call it a young rural professional! Well, maybe not so young anymore…)

I adore your loves and loathes sessions, as well as your wardrobe shots. I’d love to see what other peeps in Aussie-land are putting together and wearing. Maybe something like a “Fashion files of the fabulously normal.” But no “current events/newsy” kind of stuff – we can get that mundane crap anywhere. Keep Smaggle Style sassy, fresh and fun like it is now. Just more of it!

    Love, love LOVE this blog!

  26. piglet 14 years ago

Hi! I’m Lauren, 26, New Zealand.
    Ummm I’m an architectural technician… for 3 more weeks… then I’m an I don’t know… I’m going through a quarter life crisis.
I have my own daily style / cutestuff blog. I once did a video blog, it was waaaaaaaaaay more awkward than your one!

I love the outfits shots, DIYs and loves & loathes. I love the way you write things, it makes me laugh!

  27. sarah von 14 years ago

Sarah Maragaret! (that’s not your name)

I feel like I know you, but I’ll make a formal introduction, yes?

My name is Sarah Von, I’m 30 and an American size 9. What’s that in Oz? Maybe a 12?

I spent the last five years traveling/living/teaching in other countries, taking heaps of pictures and eating lots of cheese. I did my M.A. in New Zealand and occasionally write in Kiwi (heaps! chuffed! flatmate!) These days I teacher ESL to Southeast Asian refugees in Minnesota, hang with my crazy awesome mister, save money for another world ticket and write http://www.yesandyes.org.

Hmmm, what do I want to see? I love a good DIY and general lifestyle stuff. But really, what you’re doing? I like it! Keep it up!

  28. Jazzy 14 years ago

    Hey Lady Smaggle!
Gah your accent is lovely! now everytime i read your blog, i’m gonna pretend you are saying it in my mind! Does that even make sense? Well my name is Jazzy i’m sixteen, i’m Mexican-American and I am from a small German town in Texas! I’m a junior in high school and i wear an American size 8-10 (shoe size a 9) and have hair similar to yours which i emailed you about a few months back and recieved a lovely response! Currently i work at a Vintage boutique/ cafe and i love it. My goal right now is to graduate, attend college, become a pharmacist, and to some day open my own vintage boutique in Austin and have a walk in closet! ha dream big! Well your question asking what we wanted from life really hit home for me. Lately I’ve been really busy juggling school, college classes, band, soccer, friends, peer pressure and work and I barely have time to just chill and try to find inner peace. I guess what i really want is to be able to find balance and true happiness. I think a good addition to your blog would be maybe an advice section? You look like you have your stuff straight and found peace and could help many others by telling us of your smaggley ways! Anyways, thank you for keeping up such a fabulous blog and making us readers feel like pals instead of stalkers!
    Love,
    Jazzy

  29. Lisa 14 years ago

Hello my lady! Greetings from the mountains of Colorado. My name is Lisa, I’m 44 and live 30 miles west of Denver, CO at an elevation of 9,000 feet. I’m a legal assistant (in downtown Denver, i.e, “LoDo”), married for 20 years, a proud mommy of a chocolate lab named Georgia, and I wear a size 6.

Your blog is delightful. I love your style and your witty commentaries. I share your opinions and you always make me laugh. (My father was also of the belief that the harder he worked, the “luckier” he was!)

I’ve visited Australia and find your country to be both wild and beautiful and the people warm and inviting. My first open-water dive was on the Great Barrier Reef. 🙂

I like your DIYs, Love and Loathes, and think you’re doing a great job. Keep it up and thanks for sharing a part of you with all of us. You are just a soul sister I’ve haven’t met yet. XOXO

  30. Lady Smaggle 14 years ago

Clementine – Thanks love! That’s a great idea, I’ll totally do some ‘get your shit together posts’. Yay! I love vlogs too but I rarely watch them. They are such a time suck.

Fat Mum Slim – For sure! The Melbourne fam was totally keen to be featured. And I’ll do a Browny feature when I’m back in the Can.

Lisa – He he! Smaggle is a cross between a smash and a snuggle. It’s like really, really violent affection. Like when you want to squeeze a kitten to death because it’s so cute. Glad that everyone loves the Why Don’t Yous… 🙂

Lala – Seriously? You guys met through my blog and now you work together selling vintage jewellery??? Do you have ANY idea how happy that makes me? Oh and you met your man through your blog? Sa-weet!
I’m so glad someone loves my serious posts! Thanks! It’s not bubbles and sunshine in Smaggle land. It’s so sweet how everyone misses Browny! I miss Browny too.

Skye – Congrats on the health! We know I promote health above everything else! Awesome… so easy. No one wants the blog to change!

Cs81 – Aw thanks! Oh please! You’ve had a baby. Don’t be so hard on yourself. Also (unfortunately) as women get older their metabolisms slow down so it’s probably just your body getting used to it. I’ll do more fitness and health posts too!

Ninaribena – I know! I was so disappointed. Your stuff looked gorgeous though! Thanks love! And I’ll totally look out for you in Cleo… I think they are making that section a regular! Also how bloggy was the last issue? It was slightly weird.

Kate – Yes I was talking about you! Done. More boring crap about yours truly.

Mumma – Thanks! I need people to tell me that they like the fashion in the blog. No relationship advice. I’m pretty shit at that anyway. 🙂

E – Yay! You’re still here! I’ll totally do a browny bulletin. Damn that girl is so famous.

Amelia – Yay! I love Have a Rant Mondays. Although I haven’t a lot to rant about recently. That’s good though!

  31. Jules 14 years ago

Hi, I’m Jules. I live in Toronto, Canada and I stumbled upon your blog tonight because I was looking up flattering clothes for my body type. I saw your post about blacking out your silhouette in a picture, and I think that you and I have the same body shape. I am a size 12-14. So I would like to see more of the types of clothes you wear, because I feel a bit clueless when it comes to that.

  32. roberts 14 years ago

roberts – long time reader, first time talker.

    accountant

    canberra

don’t actually know what size I am any where on my body [ooer], i have never bought underwear in my life but it just keeps appearing and i can take around 20 minutes of clothes shopping before i furl like an echidna in the corner of the store humming these are a few of my favourite things.

My interest in my own fashion is deplorable. However, i am interested in historical fashion: the necklaces of tribemen “dressed to kill”, the Victorian women so keen to get the S-shape they wore whale-bone corsets so tight it took out a few floating ribs, the 16th century continental European aristocracy and their odd love of pubic topiary, Coco Chanel accidentally starting the tanning trend (and probably leading to more skimpy female clothes) by absent-mindedly staying out in the sun too long on a yacht.

So, yeah, more of that stuff.

  33. J. 14 years ago

I am 30, mother of 2 girls with baby 3 due in a couple of months. I LOVE your “why don’t you”s, also the “loves & loathes”. Unfortunately vimeo never seems to work on my computor, no idea why, so I didn’t get to see the vlog. I must admit that I enjoy the “daily style” posts more when you do them on a regular basis, if it’s only every now and again it’s less inspiring – but of course that’s very demanding! Your attitude and opinions are what keep me coming back, definitely. Thanks for sharing such an enthusiastic outlook.

Ahh! I was going to comment but then … well, I forgot. That’s the problem with using Google Reader.
I lovelovelove your outfit posts and Lady’s loves and loathes, and I miss (but I have seen since so maybe it’s back!) your little lists of discoveries. I love how they can be links to other sites, deep thoughts, or completely random bits and pieces which make me laugh.

I am from Halifax, Nova Scotia (all the way over in Canada!) and I am a university student, studying English Literature and heaps of Feminist Theory. I have two sweet little babies who are 4 and 2, Nico and Django (yes, I sign my daughter’s name to things, it’s because I don’t like my own!). I am a size 4 with a 6.5-7 shoe size which means the babies will soon be bigger than me.

I started reading your blog about a year and a half ago, I think. I stumbled across it when looking up new ways to wear scarves. I needed something new because the scarf trend had caught on at my university and it was getting out of hand – I had been a loyal scarf-wearer for quite some time until the foufy-lemons (those who wear expensive yoga gear in public but are hard-pressed to actually -do- yoga for fear of mussing their perfectly coiffed hair) got a hold of them.

I absolutely adore your wit and intelligence as you bring us into your life. Also, your “Lady Loves and Loathes” posts are quite possibly my favourite because they are so cathartic and humorous! As you know, it’s not always appropriate to throw rocks at the idiots but at least we can all share in “guess-what-this-asshole-did-to-me time”! And the “Why Don’t You” posts are simply delightful.

I LOVE your Daily Style posts. That’s what initially drew me to your blog. I also love the Loves and Loathes blogs. Oh, I’ve nearly forgotten to introduce myself.

My name is Erin, I’m twenty-one. I live in the United States (Michigan to be exact). My size varies from 16/17/18. I’m 5’11. I am a political science student. I am obsessed with fashion blogs.

You seem very sweet and you’re definitely very interesting and I love your blog as/is! I could do with more style posts though. (: Anything from how-to’s to best for your body shape type posts.

Jules – Sure! I’m on it! I’m crazy busy at the moment but I always do outfit posts when I’m less nuts.

Roberts – Excellent. More fashion history coming up. I have a brief history of Coco Chanel you may be interested in?

J – Thanks! I’ve been trying to do it every day but I’ve been working with really special kids this week so it’s been sneakers and shorts but I promise when I wear something pretty I’ll post again!

Sarah-rose – More of all coming your way!

Nico – Thank you so much! It’s bizarre I never though people liked the daily discoveries!

Erin – Yes everyone loves the style posts! More coming soon! xxx

    Hi Lady Smaggle.

You come across very well on video! I would approve of seeing you on film more often 🙂

So who am I and what do I want from Smaggle? hhmm..

Almost 24 year old living in Melbourne. Originally from the country. Only just feeling like I’m coming into my own style wise. I can look completely different one day to the next – sometimes feel like I need more of a ‘look’ but am finally shopping a bit smarter and pulling together more ‘outfits’ that I love. I’m around a size 10. Body has changed a bit over the years. extremely thin teen – curvy when living out of home and not eating well – now slimmer again thanks to home cooked meals and grief/stress eek!

Currently hating not knowing what I want next from life. Applying for new jobs. How about some tips on confidence and job interview fashion tips?

I really love smaggle, it’s my favourite blog because it always makes me laugh. And you have really good no nonsense fashion tips which I love. I really liked the post you did ages ago about the widest part of your body and what type of clothes to avoid – I think you would be really good at more of those kind of hands on tutorials. (with a dose of body love of course!) And maybe you could incorporate video with that.

I would love to see some fashion dirt. Did you always dress so well or do you have some fashion skeletons in the closet we could see? Maybe some we can learn from. I know I certainly shake my head at some of my past ensembles! 🙂

I’d love to see more about hair and make up too. I’m still no pro at all on makeup at 23.. I’ve never had anyone to teach me really. I wish I was a pro! And I have a long face so I’m never sure what hair style will suit me. Anything about that kind of stuff would be awesome.

I would love to hear your opinion on products as well. New things on the market. Your old favourites. Your two cents on things that seem too good to be true. Wonder creams and things that make you lose a dress size. I think your sense of humour would suit that kind of thing really well.

I like hearing about what is happening in your life also. Would like to know more about the course you are doing and what you hope to do in the future.. where you hope your current path will take you.

Wow. Thought I didn’t have a lot to say but there you go!

Love your work and look forward to reading more and more!
