I’m currently lying on the bed of our uber cool hotel in Christchurch. It’s called So and it’s an old office building that they converted into a hotel. The room is tiny but so so cool. We are up at 4.30 tomorrow to catch our flight back home to Australia. I’m horrified that there is another 4.30 in the day. I thought there was only one 4.30 and that it was for drinking coffee and eating oranges with Browny (for my new readers Browny is my work mate and my faux wife). I’m thinking that the other 4.30 is not going to be nearly as pleasant. This evening Mr Smaggle and I celebrated our last evening in New Zealand with a delicious Thai food picnic and a shared bottle of champagne. Bliss!

Y’know me and the Mister were gettin all nostalgic and putting scads of leather bike jackets on watched on eBay last night … we’ve been all modern and cordura-fied these last few years (which is fun in a Robocop kinda way but highly unflattering to the womanly figure + body armour = bulk ahoy, which I certainly do not need). I am now unearthing my black leather jacket of yore (and waving 2 fingers to modern safety features ooo – errr!) – yay! You look so cool (I shall prolly look like some kind of black encased sausage product but what the hell).

Hope you enjoyed 4.30am at the airport. The sunrise light shining on the mountains is gorgeous, and Chch, being so flat, has such a big sky – although it’s possible that coming from Aussie you don’t notice flatness . . . ?

SO is just up the road from where I lived in Chch – I was at LivingSpace – actually I’m pretty sure they are owned by the same people. Glad you’ve had such a good time in NZ – your photos have been making me miss it even more. Great daily photo by the way.
