Lady loves…

* Having Mr Smaggle around. It makes my days so much nicer.

* Winning a study grant. I’ve applied two years in a row and this was my year. It’s just enough to set myself up with a torch and a drill. I’ll be a real life jeweller. Flipping sweet.

* Having a busy week planned – Under Belly Night, a delicious Melbourne Fashion Week date with Ink and Leather and a cheeky weekend away with Mr Smaggle. Bliss face.

* Experimenting at school. I’m doing a project using a technique called granulation where by you fuse small balls of silver onto sheet metal. I just got to melt the crap out of silver all day. You have no idea how satisfying it is. When silver reaches melting point it flashes bright metallic like mercury. Or the Terminator when he is transitioning.

* The new release of Body Step. Chock full of Michael Jackson songs and the ‘party’ track was almost like a tap routine. It made me want to get out my tap shoes and knock out a couple of time steps.

* Reading books about Fundamentalist Latter Day Saints (FLDS – Polygamist Mormans from Utah) and members who have escaped from the oppresive community. The book I’m currently reading is called ‘Escape’ by Caroline Jessop and when she left the FLDS with her eight children, her first job on the outside was sewing traditional long underwear for costumes for Big Love which, if you’re a long time Smaggle reader you’ll know is my favourite show. I love weird little connections like that.

* Prawn salads. My new favourite.

Lady Loathes…

* The internet. It’s the only service that you have to pay for regardless of whether or not it works. Think about it. If your internet cuts out what do you do? Call the company. Wait a while. There’s no refunds, no apologies. Imagine if you went to see a masseuse and half way through he stops because he doesn’t feel like doing it anymore. Would you be expected to pay for the full hour? No. So why this weird customer service exemption for the old world wide web? It’s mental.

* On the same note, I also loathe my crappy internet in Melbourne. It takes a stupid amount of time to upload pictures and I end up slamming my laptop closed and cursing before it finishes. Lets hope this post makes it through.

* Again… not being able to wear pretty clothes because of my daily brushes with acid/vomit. Hence the lame amount of daily style shots.

What about you little one? Anything to share?

Your love of Mr. Smaggle and busy weeks made me smile. E. and I have been able to spend so much time together recently (due to non-busy weeks) that I wonder how I go five minutes without him. Of course, I also massively love busy weeks. My planners are so empty for the next week and a half!

“Not being able to wear pretty clothes because of my daily brushes with acid/vomit.” I bet Ripley thought that every day she was on that damn spaceship with the alien …

I have a middle-ear infection and thus spend every moment not sitting or prone, reeling about like a comedy drunk. After 3 days it is old.

Liberty for Target – the same range/same items – available from Liberty in the UK but more expensive ie Liberty-print flipflops $9.99 or £15.00 ($24.00) – what’s THAT about then?

Oooooh, YUMMY SILVER! I am so jealous of your project, sounds like so much fun!!
Ahhh, and the damn internets…it’s worse when you hold for an HOUR (on your mobile, on a friday night) to the internets company, then some git in India answers and 3 seconds into the conversation he ACCIDENTLY HANGS UP ON YOU! *ends rant*

Just discovered tonight that my business website has been down for four days. Hosting company has a lot to answer for. I bet they’ll try and worm their way out of compensating me as well.
