Exciting Announcement – I Wrote A Book!
Carly Jacobs

Well kind of… I co-wrote a book with my podcast co-host Kelly.

Almost 2 years ago I casually asked Kelly if she’d like to do a podcast with me. We’d been writing in the same self improvement space for years and it just made sense to partner up.

We called the podcast Straight & Curly because well, Kelly is a bit straight and I’m a bit curly. Although as it turns out I’m just as practical, logical and organised as Kelly but what are you going to do? Straight & Curly now has 1000s of subscribers, is regularly featured in the top charts of iTunes, was one of the top 10 podcasts of 2016 selected by iTunes and has been featured in The Age, Women’s Health and Fitness magazine and has been mentioned alongside the likes of Oprah and Gretchen Rubin. That’s not too shabby for two pain in the ass Aussie upholders who like to talk about themselves.

We had a few people ask us for transcripts of our shows as they like to go back over our notes and have links to the things we talk about on the show.

We’ve grabbed our top 8 episodes and edited them heavily into a book of conversations about diets and lifestyle detoxes.

If you’ve listened to the podcast, you’ll know that Kelly and I approach every topic with a very open mind, absolutely no professional experience and from the point of view of self experimenters. We highly recommend a do no harm approach to every thing. For example we’re not too keen on things like lemon detox diets (because why would you do that to yourself?) but we’re all for cutting out dairy or wheat if it makes you feel good.

This book is a discussion about diet and lifestyle detoxes. We talk about moderation with eating, what nourishing food actually is, cutting out coffee, alcohol and sugar. We also cover the topic of digital detoxes with tips for how to go for a whole weekend without touching your phone. That one hurt Kelly a lot. I kind of loved it.

    Nice work, ladies! 🙂

I mix up my books, I love my Kindle but I also sometimes still buy physical books, either on a whim or at writers festivals etc. Depends if I’m up at midnight online shopping and want it ‘now’ or walking past a book store… and also want it ‘now’. 😉

In this instance I’m buying it on Kindle. Looking forward to the read!

I’m the same! It totally depends for me. For example I don’t like digital crochet books, I always want the physical version of it but for novel style books, I’m kindle all the way.

Congratulations on the book – very cool. I like mostly digital now but every now and then a physical book is nice.
