9 Signs That You’re Losing The Plot

L

ike most people, I’m really busy. I rarely, if ever, sit down at the end of the day and think ‘Gee, I’m a bit bored! Wish I had something to do.‘ There’s ALWAYS something to do. Most of the time I feel like I manage my life quite well. I eat proper food, I exercise several times a week, I get a decent amount of sleep. Occasionally though I find myself in a weird state of disarray and I can’t quite figure out how I ended up like that. That’s where I am right now. I’ve been juggling lots of stuff and while it’s awesome, I’m definitely spreading myself a little bit too thin. I haven’t spent a full evening in my own house since August and I’ve had eggs for dinner 5 nights in a row. The full extent of my loss-of-the-plot hit me this morning when I realised I’d bought underwear twice in the last week because I haven’t had time to do my damn washing. Thankfully I have an evening or two off this week so I can do things like wash my hair, eat a vegetable and spend time with that guy I live with. He seems pretty cool. Here are a few of the warning signs that I shouldn’t have ignored a week ago…

9 Signs That You’re Losing The Plot

1. The only green thing you’ve eaten in the last week is a wasabi pea and you ate it accidentally.

2. There are more clothes in your dirty laundry basket than in your cupboard.

3. ‘Catching up’ with your friends has turned into a quick scan of their Facebook walls.

4. You have no idea what day of the week it is… or what month it is.

5. You haven’t laid eyes on the people you live with since last Tuesday.

6. You’re considering breaking your own leg because a short stay in hospital might be the only holiday you get this year.

7. ‘Cooking’ starts to include boiling eggs and making toast. ‘Fancy cooking’ includes heating up a handy pack of rice.

8. You’re fairly sure you’ve had a shower today… fairly sure.

9. You get really emotional when people make you cups of tea.

What happens to you when you’re losing the plot? What’s the first thing to give?

Research has shown that people who subscribe to the Smaggle newsletter and like Smags on Facebook are, on average at least 32% better looking than people who don’t. You can’t argue with questionable science like that.
