How Do You Become A Full Time Blogger?

eah. How DO you become a full time blogger? This a question bloggers get asked all the time. And it’s a totally fair enough question because blogging is weird man. My business wife Chrissy (from Hair Romance and Mr & Mrs Romance) and I found we were constantly answering questions about blogging (which we love doing!) so last year we trekked around the east coast of Australia running blogging workshops in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra and Adelaide. We even presented at the Problogger conference. We call ourselves Little Blog Big.

This us demonstrating the ‘period cramp’ fashion pose. We also do ‘stylish poo’ and we recently perfected our ‘stylish fart’ poses. We teach all these valuable skills at our workshops.

Chrissy and I were talking about our businesses recently and we thought about the stuff we love doing the most. That stuff that makes us giddy. The stuff that makes us work 15 hour days and not even feel it. That stuff that makes us glow inside.

And last year, for us it was running our Little Blog Big workshops. Every single event we ran was beyond our expectations. In Adelaide we sipped local wine and stuffed ourselves with Fruchoc ice cream. In Brisbane we huddled around the blasting air conditioner and talked for hours with our artist students about how you can make money doing what you love. In Sydney we taught everyone to do beautiful flat lays and then couldn’t get the bloggers to stop rearranging the food. In Melbourne we taught artists and jewellers how to nail their social media accounts and sniffed at the fresh vanilla bean pods from Grounded Pleasures in the goodie bags. In Canberra we rugged up in big jackets, drank cups of tea and helped a few local authors pimp their online profiles.

And now we’re headed to Perth! I’ve spent all of 5 minutes in Perth so I’m terribly excited to be visiting this beautiful pocket of Australia. I’m from Canberra so I know how annoying it is to have all the events happen in every city but yours – so we thought we’d haul our butts to other side of Australia and hang out with all our western buddies. The only thing that makes me sad that I probably won’t have time to meet a quokka.

Live in Perth but not sure if this is for you? Here’s some feedback we’ve received from past workshops.

Oh reading over these makes me so excited for our next workshop!

It’s in Perth (I know I already said that!) and it’s for anyone who is feeling burned out, disillusioned and wondering how the hell other bloggers and small business owners have the time to do all the stuff they do. We’ve had beauty bloggers, plumbers, magazine editors, electricians, adult fiction writers, activists, artists, jewellery designers, hair dressers, cafe owners, surfers, singers, graphic designers, writers, dancers and even babies attend our workshops. It’s for anyone who is feeling a bit lost and needs someone to point their feet in the right direction. It’s also for anyone who needs to find their online tribe.

Oh and my awesome Straight and Curly co-host and mate Kelly will be presenting at the workshop too! Yay! You totally have to come. Our last workshop in Brisbane actually sold out (we had a waiting list and everything!) so don’t dawdle. Early bird ticket prices end on Monday.
