17 Bloody Brilliant Comedy Movies You Should Totally Watch Again

Sometimes on a Friday night I just want to put on a movie I’ve already seen, just so I don’t have to use my brain anymore. The trouble is, it’s hard to just randomly think of movies. I have a running list in my phone of movies I want to re-watch and I think it’s pretty top-notch if I do say so myself. Here are my suggestions for perfect movies to re-watch while crafting/giving yourself a manicure/pinteresting…

1. Bridesmaids

Kristen Wiig is a genius and this whole movie is worth it alone for Maya Rudolph shitting in the street in her wedding dress.

2. Hot Fuzz

If Nick Frost asked me to marry him, I’d probably say yes… and invite Mr Smaggle to the wedding.

3. There’s Something About Mary

This movie just never gets old. Neither does jizz hair or Ben Stiller getting his nuts stuck in his zipper.

4. Napoleon Dynamite

There are too many brilliant moments in this movie but I still think my favourite is ‘You could build her a cake?’

5. Ted

I know he’s controversial and we’re all supposed to hate him but I love Seth Macfarlane. I also love Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis and Giovanni Ribisi. This one’s a winner.

6. Shaun of The Dead

If you haven’t watched this you simply must. It has 90% of my favourite British comedians in it. For real.

7. Hello Ladies

This is a sneaky one and you need to watch the series first but this is Steven Merchant’s movie length finale for his show Hello Ladies. It’s one of the most adorable and hilarious romantic comedies I’ve ever seen. Firm favourite.

8. Waiting For Guffman

If you’ve ever done community theatre, you need to watch this movie. Plus it has Parker Posey in it and she’s just a bundle of awesome in everything.

9. BASEketball

Honestly, I haven’t watched this since the 90s and I’m hoping it holds up but Trey Parker and Matt Stone are usually very solid. I think I’m putting this one at the top of my weekend must watch list.

10. A Fish Called Wanda

I didn’t realise this movie was that hilarious until I re-watched it as an adult and it is such a hidden gem. Excellent, excellent gags. Get on it.

11. Toy Story

It’s just delightful. Enough said.

12. The Castle

I love how every time I watch The Castle I notice something else totally hilarious that missed the last time. My recent discovering was ‘You know Jenny? Not Jen-ny Jenny, Microwave Jenny.’ – Australian humour at it’s finest.

13. Team America

As a huge fan of Rent, I will never think Everyone Has Aids isn’t funny.

14. Bridget Jones’ Diary

I have seen this movie dozens of times and I still laugh at ‘Fitzherbert – Tits Per-vert.’

15. Juno

Ellen Page just nailed it in this movie. While we’re here I’d like to thank Diablo Cody for the phrase ‘Honest to blog?’

16. Ace Ventura

This popped up on the TV the other day but I didn’t have time to watch so I watched it a few days later and it still holds up. Jim Carrey can truly stand the test of time.

17. Honey I Shrunk The Kids

Another oldie but a goodie this one always delivers. Especially when the kids make friends with the ants. I want an ant friend.
