How To Boost Your Productivity With One Simple Little Action

S

ometimes a productivity hack can be so simple and obvious it’s almost not worth mentioning. This is why I’ve avoided dedicating a whole blog post to this topic but I’ve been practicing this hack for as long as I can remember and there is honestly nothing more for effective for my productivity and and focus than this.

I’m talking about going for a walk. I know, I know. It’s like the productivity equivalent and you telling your mum you’re hungry and she’s all ‘Eat an apple!’ and you’re like ‘BUT I WANT A BISCUIT!!!’.

Sometimes the easiest, quickest and most boring solutions are the most effective and that’s what we’re talking about this week on Straight and Curly.

We all know a brisk walk releases feel-good endorphins while reducing stress and anxiety. So for positive mental health, walking’s an absolute must. But how is it a productivity booster?

This week Kelly and I discuss our first Productivity Booster: Going for a walk. We talk about putting this little hack into practice during your day and ways you can track your productivity to see if it’s working for you. Hint: It will work. This hack rarely fails.

You can find this week’s episode about the simple act of going for a walk on Straight and Curly – a podcast for self improvement junkies. Each week we try a life hack like eating 5 cups of vegetables every day or keeping a gratitude journal. Then we report on our findings and tell you whether you should try it or whether it’s a giant waste of your time.
If you don’t know how to listen to podcasts don’t fret – here are a few tips.

iPhone users

Open up the podcast app on your phone (it already lives there so you don’t need to download it) and search for Straight and Curly. Then hit subscribe and you’re good to go.

Android users

The same as iPhone users but you just use the Android podcast app.

Desktop users

You can listen to it while you work at your computer – just click this link here.

We’ve received some incredible support from our readers – we made it to New and Noteworthy within a few days and this week we outranked some very high profile podcasts. It’s all very exciting. I’m loving this podcasting thing sick. If you’re a long term reader of Smaggle, I’d love for you to become a listener. Go on. Get ear Smaggled. Also if you love the show we’d adore for you to leave a review. In fact, we’ll even mention you in the show!
