15 Awesome Ikea Hacks For Your Home

It’s been on my list for ages to ‘fall in love with Pinterest’. It’s all very When Harry Met Sally of me but I kind of don’t like Pinterest and by forcing myself to spend time with it, I’m hoping it will grow on me like Billy Crystal grew on Meg Ryan… or something to that effect. I’ve started my love affair by searching Pinterest for things that I love – piglets wearing gumboots, miniature domesticated goats, salted caramel anything and Ikea hacks. Here’s today’s haul of awesome Ikea hacks for your home… cancel your weekend plans and order a palette of Malm. We’re getting crafty this weekend!

1. Knuff Coffee Table Hack from Ikea Hackers

This is easily one of the best Ikea hacks I’ve seen. I mean come on… those are MAGAZINE HOLDERS!!! Brilliant.

2. Mid-Century Coffee Table from Triple Max Tons

I get so annoyed when people changed the legs on tables and it looks awesome and I didn’t think of it myself.

3. Dipped Stool Bedside Table from Yesterday’s Sweetheart

Perfect. Although if this was MY bedside table I would definitely knock those flowers on myself in my sleep.

4. Customised Expedit Side Table from Vicky’s Home

I’m a sucker for a customised surface and this one looks super easy to do.

5. Planter Box from A Pumpkin and Princess

I love it plants are in things they aren’t supposed to be in. Like shoes, tea cups and wooden boxes from Ikea. Isn’t it the best???

6. Wine Holder Herb Garden from Curbly

Do you see what I mean? Wine bottle holders! I’m totally starting a tumblr called Plants in Unexpected Vessels.

7. Customised Expedit Storage Seat from Krys Melo

I will never, ever make this because it looks scary and I live in a one bedroom flat but how cool is it?

8. Ikea Drawers Makeover from  Smitten Studio Online

Next time I’m in a vintage store and I see all those beautiful antique drawer knobs I’m going to buy them and replace all the drawer knobs in my house.

9. Customised Ikea Table Hack from Matsutake Blog

I love a simple little addition to a basic Ikea table.

10. Mirror and Vintage Belt DIY from Ikea Hackers

I really love this and I definitely want to make it – perfect for an office don’t think for midday make-up touch ups?

11. Floating Shelf Hack from Unalibreria

I can’t even talk about this one it’s SO COOL! The instructions are in Swedish (I think…) but it looks pretty self explanatory and cheap.

12. $60 Desk Hack from Pretty Providence

This would be perfect for a kids desk or an at home office. Hidden storage is the bomb.

13. Glam Malm Makeover from Amanda Carol Interiors

This one has been doing the rounds for years but I love it. Perfect way to dress up your Malm.

14. Dipped Side Table Hack from The Sweet Beast

I don’t know if dipped stuff is still cool but I love this little side table hack. I also love that colour… I’m really feeling peachy apricots now.

15. Fancy Malm Hack from Marcus Design Inc

Another fancy way to dress up a Malm. I’m going to go nuts and border ALL THE THINGS WITH GOLD!
