5 Things Productive People Never Say

I

‘m a firm believer that actions speak louder than words but sometimes it’s your words that you need to watch. Every now and then I catch myself being a downright Negative Nancy. If I’m having a bit of an off day, I’ll occasionally start saying words I rarely say like can’t, won’t and difficult.

These words are like giant grubs in the crispy apple of your day. If you want to make sure you’re getting the most out of every day here’s a list of things to avoid saying…

I couldn’t be bothered

Productive people are bothered. One of the biggest game changers in life is simply being bothered. Don’t let anything be too hard for you to achieve and never say that you can’t be bothered.

That’s not possible

Productive people never see blocks in the road, they only see their goal. There’s also a big difference between things that seem impossible and things that are actually impossible. If you’re going to use the word ‘impossible’, make sure you use it accurately.

I’m going to do it the way I always do it

There’s certainly merit in repetition but truly productive people know that sometimes you need to update your routine. It’s certainly easier to do things the way you’ve always done but it might not be the fastest or most efficient way to get things done. Give change a chance.

I don’t need a second opinion

Productive people love to learn and they love to hear the opinions of other people. It’s easy to fall into a trap of feeling like an expert at your job, especially if you’ve been doing it for an extended period of time but one of the best things you can do for your productivity is ask for advice. You never know who might have the answer to your problem.

Let’s have a meeting first

Productive people know that the worst place to start is with a meeting. Meetings with no purpose are a waste of everyone’s time. Agendas come first, then meetings.

Are you a productive person? Or do you need to give yourself a kick up the bum to get stuff done?

P.S Did you know there’s a Smaggle weekly newsletter? And a Smaggle Facebook page? You should get all up in both their faces. It’s totally worth it, I promise.
