3 Things That Are The Bees Knees

Y

ou guys know the drill with these. If you love them, you have to comment on them, otherwise they don’t work. Basically I tell you three things I’m loving right now like a movie or some kind of awesome snack and then you guys tell me three things YOU’RE loving right now and then I copy you because awesomeness makes the world go around. Right? Right.

Here are three things that are the bees knees…

Cop Car

This is one of those movies that I totally didn’t want to watch because it sounds boring but Mr Smaggle made me watch it and I’m so glad he did. It’s a small movie with a tiny budget and a very small cast but it’s just spectacular. It’s one of those movies where you get to the end and you have no idea how any of the characters ended up where they are. It’s one of the best movies I’ve seen in ages. This movie has been added to ‘The Firefly Incident’ category of film and television because I refused to watch Firefly for years. It’s labelled as a ‘space western’ and to me that sounded like the biggest snoozefest on earth. One day Mr Smaggle sat me down and forced to me watch it and I almost cried with regret immediately. Firefly is amazing and so is Cop Car. Watch them both and don’t be a sook like me.

Bubble Tea

I recently went on a date with my old housemate and we went to our favourite mall cinema. There’s a bubble tea joint right outside and I had my first bubble tea in about 8 years. Red milk tea with pearls. It’s was the best. It’s like a weird milkshake with yummy chunks in it. I used to hate bubble tea and now I’ve replaced dinner with bubble tea at least twice this month. Give it a go. Bubble tea forever.

99% Invisible

We all know I’m a total podcast junky but one of my biggest issues with podcasts is the length – most of them are just too damn long. Sometimes I need a little ten minute number to listen to while I go for a spin around the supermarket. 99% Invisible is a fairly recent discovery but it’s just brilliant. They’re tiny little episodes about really interesting things. This week I learned about graphic design on money, how we figured out how diseases spread and racism in middle America in the 1920s. It’s fascinating. Highly recommend it.
